Synamodec - Magnetar Black Distortion Synth
VIDEO
Overview
The Synamodec - Magnetar is a unique synthesizer that combines distortion and fuzz effects in series,
modulated by an LFO and followed by a delay unit. This manual will guide you through the
controls and functions of the MAGNETAR to help you achieve the desired sound.
Controls
Distortion Module
1. **In**: Controls the input level to the distortion.
2. **Dist 1**: Sets the level of distortion.
3. **Hue**: Adjusts the hue of the distortion (the associated switch changes the hue).
4. **Tone**: Equalization control for the distortion.Input and LFO Modulation
1. **In**: Jack for input signal.
2. **Mod**: LFO frequency control (modulates the delay parameter GIG).
3. **Level**: LFO level control (modulates the delay parameter GIG).
Power Supply
- **DC Jack**: Connect a 28V DC power supply.
Feedback Control
- **Feedback**: Controls the feedback level from the distortion module.
Output
- **Out**: Output jack.
- **NXPTD**: Feedback delay control.
- **D/W**: Delay effect level.
- **On/Off Switch**: Activates or deactivates the unit.
- **BP**: Bypass switch for the unit.
Fuzz Module
1. **Level**: Controls the input level (associated with the input of the distortion).
2. **Gain**: Adjusts the gain of the fuzz.
3. **Dist 2**: Sets the level of fuzz distortion.
4. **Fog**: Changes the hue of the fuzz.
Signal Path
The signal flows through the MAGNETAR in the following sequence:
```
IN + DISTORTION + FUZZ + DELAY + OUT
EQ + FB LFO
``` Usage Tips
The MAGNETAR is very sensitive to input levels. Start with levels around 1Vpp (Volts peak-
to-peak). The level controls not only adjust the volume but also affect the response and
behavior of the distortion and fuzz.
Using the feedback control can make the MAGNETAR produce high-pitched sounds similar
to a guitar feedbacking through an amplifier.
Powering the Unit
- Connect a 28V DC power supply to the DC jack.
- Ensure the power supply meets the required specifications to avoid damage to the unit.
Safety and Maintenance
- Avoid exposing the MAGNETAR to extreme temperatures or moisture.
- Disconnect the power supply when the unit is not in use.
- Regularly check cables and connections for any signs of wear or damage.
